The Toronto Blue Jays 8-4 win over the Kansas City Royals on Friday had its fair share of exciting moments and one came in the seventh inning of the game as outfielder Rajai Davis tried to make a catch for the Jays and was interrupted-by a ball boy.
According to Yahoo Sports, as David raced into foul territory to make the catch, the ball boy unwittingly went after it and forced Davis to miss the catch and despite being in line for a collision, the two just bumped and the ball went down. Luckily for the ball boy the catch did not factor into the game as the Jays won, but in the past others have made that mistake. Kauffman Stadium has a solid amount of foul space and the ball boy made a big mistake, since the two were going at it from different directions and the collision easily could have been worse.
Davis crashed into the field tarp and was frustrated but ok, while the ball boy was forced to sit in embarrassment on his stool, although many fans were probably happy since the game was in Kansas City. It wasn't the biggest deal in the game for Toronto, as José Reyes seriously hurt his ankle sliding into second base and could be out for months.
It is a tough injury for the Blue Jays, who are expected to be one of the best teams in the AL East after making some big trades.
