Manchester City vs Wigan: Preview, Predictions, Expected Lineups, Team News and Injuries of English Premier League Game

Fans will get a taste if what to expect from this year's F.A. Cup final, when the two teams that made it to the summit clash - Manchester City and Wigan - lock horns in an English Premier League game.

City have lost their title to Manchester United, there is no doubt about that. However, Roberto Mancini, will want to keep his side firmly in control of second place - City are currently six points clear of third-placed Arsenal, with a game in hand.

It is sometimes difficult to motivate players, when they know they really have nothing much to play for - Liverpool's consecutive 0-0 draws in the Premier League being a case in point.

The City players, after the euphoria of last season, when they won the title in the most dramatic of circumstances, will be feeling a little deflated. But then, they will also know, that they only have themselves to blame for their challenge in the league ending so soon, even if Manchester united have been on a brilliant run.

For too many time this season, City have not shown up. If they had played like they did against Manchester United and Chelsea, all season, then the story at the top of the table would have been different.

However, now it is just about second place for the reigning champions, while Mancini looks to keep his players fit for the F.A. Cup final.

Wigan, on the other hand, will have to keep their focus completely on the Premier League. They are currently third bottom, on 31 points from 31 games. Aston Villa, Stoke City and Sunderland are all only three points ahead of the Latics, but having played two games more.

So, if Wigan win both their games in hand, they should be in the driver's seat for survival.

Roberto Martinez's men were supposed to kick on this season and really make an impression in the top half of the league. However, the reality is another battle against relegation, which looks like going down to the wire.

Mancini is unlikely to risk David Silva, who was not fit enough to be involved in the F.A. Cup semifinal against Chelsea, while Micah Richards could make a comeback from a long-term injury. The City defender has not played since October, 2012, but could be set to a place at least on the bench against Wigan.

Sergio Aguero was extremely lucky not to be charged for a nasty two-footed lunge on David Luiz in the F.A. Cup semifinal, and therefore will be available for the Wigan clash.

The Latics do not have any new injury worries, and Martinez will have to take the Wembley exertions into consideration before deciding on his own starting XI.

Expected lineups: Manchester City: Hart; Zabaleta, Toure, Nastasic, Kolarov; Barry, Garcia; Milner, Nasri, Tevez; Dzeko.

Wigan: Robles; Boyce, Alcaraz, Scharner, Figueroa; McCarthy, McManaman, Gomez, Beausejour, Kone, Maloney.

Prediction: 2-2
