Boston Bombing Investigation: Keith Yandle Honors Victim Martin Richard As Phoenix Coyotes Star To Give Jersey To Family (PHOTO)

Boston native and Phoenix Coyotes star Keith Yandle honored Boston marathon bombing victim Martin Richard on Saturday with a jersey bearing his name on it prior to the 3-2 shootout win against the Blackhawks and he now will deliver that jersey to his family in his honor.

According to Yahoo, the family has expressed that they would like to have the jersey rather than it be auctioned off and Yandle said that he plans to deliver the jersey himself when he heads home to Boston. The report said that he is planning to go with wife's uncle, Sean O'Brien, a Boston fire lieutenant, who responded to the bombings, and O'Brien's daughter, Ava who was a classmate and friend of Richard's prior to the attack.

Yandle thought about the gesture during the week and he also honored the victims by writing "Pray For Boston" on his skates and gloves during his game against the Sharks on Monday.

"It'll be tough," said Yandle on Monday. "But it'll be something they wanted, and it will be special giving it to them."
