English Premier League Champions Manchester United Dominate PFA Team of the Year

English Premier League champions Manchester United expectedly dominated the PFA Team of the Year with four of their players making the cut.

Forward Robin Van Persie, midfielder Michael Carrick, two of the nominees for PFA Player of the Year, defender Rio Ferdinand and goalkeeper David De Gea all made it to the starting XI, as United had twice as many players as any other team.

Van Persie was a shoo-in after scoring 25 goals this season and leading United to their 20th league and 13th Premier League title, following his controversial move from Arsenal last summer.

Chelsea had two players in the Team of the Year, with PFA Player of the Year nominees Juan Mata and Eden Hazard named in the lineup.

Spurs also had a couple of players with central defender Jan Vertonghen joining PFA Player and Young Player of the Year Gareth Bale.

Luis Suarez of Liverpool, who came in second in the voting to Bale for the PFA Player of the Year, finds a place along with Manchester City's Pablo Zabaleta and Everton's Leighton Baines.

"Truly humbled to be included within the @PFA Team Of The Year," Zabaleta tweeted. "It's an honour to play and be named alongside such great players. Thanks."
