Tim Tebow Rumors: St. Louis Rams or Houston Texans An Option? Quarterback Could Sign With San Diego Chargers or Oakland Raiders After Jets Release

Tim Tebow is free from the New York Jets, but that doesn't ensure him of anything in the NFL, as he still needs to find a team that is willing to sign him and take a chance on him and one place that could be is in St. Louis with the Rams.

According to the NY Daily News, the Rams at one point earlier in the season discussed trading for Tebow from the Jets, but those talks never went farther than that. Now that Tebow is a free agent, Jeff Fisher and the Rams could go after him as a backup for Sam Bradford and after adding Tavon Austin in the draft the team could use some interesting sets in the backfield on offense with the players.

The Rams went 7-8-1 last season and are on the way up in a division that has Super Bowl contenders in the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks and a Tebow move could help put the team over the top in the NFC West. Fisher has proven to be an excellent coach during his career and he would be able to bring Tebow in to a city without a crazy media and a quarterback situation that is fully set in stone. The team ranked 18th and 19th in passing and rushing offense per game and the addition of Tebow could help add a new element to the offensive sets.

Other options for Tebow include the Houston Texans, who may want another backup behind Matt Schaub instead of TJ Yates and he also could add a new wrinkle to the offense with Andre Johnson and Arian Foster. The Texans made it into the playoffs again and since they wouldn't have to give up anything for Tebow and could just sign him, it would be an interesting option.

The San Diego Chargers need a solid backup for Phillip River and Tebow could also provide a new element to the offense for head coach Mike McCoy, who even tried to lull LaDanian Tomlinson out of retirement to play for the Chargers. If the team is that desperate they could find a way to put Tebow in the offense and after a disappointing season last year with Norv Turner he an Manti Teo could give some excitement to the franchise.
