Otis Nixon Arrested For Drug Charges As Former Atlanta Braves MLB Outfielder Pulled Over By Police With Crack Cocaine (MUGSHOT)

Former Atlanta Braves outfielder and MLB player Otis Nixon was arrested over the weekend after midnight on Saturday night in Georgia after being pulled over by police.

According to the Associated Press, Nixon was arrested on drug charges in the suburbs of the city after another driver called about his Dodge Ram truck driving wildly. The report from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said that the 54-year-old was still in jail as of Monday on a $11,880 bond. The report says that police found a pipe for smoking crack cocaine as well as suspected crack rocks and other drugs and paraphernalia.

Police said that Nixon was charged with cocaine possession and possession of a drug-related object and told police that he was driving someone home and that he was not weaving. He also said that the pipes and drugs were not his, but his sons, and he was trying to get rid of it. They also gave him a field sobriety test and said he was not under the influence.

During his career, Nixon was known as a speed player and played for the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians and Montreal Expos while stealing over 600 bases.
