The New York Knicks desperately needed a win on Tuesday night after dropping Game 1 at Madison Square Garden and after a great game by Carmelo Anthony and others, the team got the victory 105-79 and one reason was due to a high flying dunk from Iman Shumpert.
During the first half of Game 2 Shumpert was on the wing when Chris Copeland took a shot and after it hit off the backboard, Shumpert came running untouched and threw down the ball with a one handed slam. Before that moment, and in Game 1 as well, the MSG crowd was quiet, but the dunk electrified them and the arena was loud for the rest of the night. The team took an 11-point advantage on the dunk and the Knicks bench jumped up like crazy when it happened.
Shumpert is one of the most athletic players on the Knicks and he now looks fully healed from the ACL surgery he had last season. Shumpert added 15 points in the game on 7 of 11 shots and he also added six rebounds in the dominating 105-79 win that ties the series heading into Game 3 in Indiana.
