Colorado QB Arrested As Jordan Webb and Buffaloes Lineman Alex Lewis Hit With Felony Assault Charges, Delaware Quarterback Stabbing Arrest Made For Trevor Sasek

Colorado quarterback Jordan Webb and former CU offensive lineman Alex Lewis got into trouble on Saturday night, as the two were arrested on second-degree assault charges, according to a Boulder County Sheriff's report.

According to the Denver Post, Webb, who was the quarterback before suffering a season ending injury, and Lewis, the starter on the offensive line, were arrested on charges that are a felony and considered a violent crime. Lewis just recently announced that he was transferring to Nebraska and he was charged with two counts of harassment. The school released a statement and said that they will wait and allow the investigation to proceed. Lewis's fate is now in Nebraska's hands after transferring, according to his lawyer.

Webb was the primary starter last season as the team went 1-11 in the Pac-12 and he threw for 1,434 yards last season with eight interceptions and eight touchdowns, but he is out after tearing a ligament in his right knee during spring workouts and now he likely will be out for some of the season and the charges don't help either. Webb is a fifth year senior and he came to the school from Kansas and his best performance last year was in a win against Washington State when he threw for 345 yards and two touchdowns as well as a three-yard rushing touchdown.

"Once all of the facts come to light, if Jordan is found responsible for any misconduct, he will be disciplined according to team rules," first-year Colorado coach Mike MacIntyre said in a statement. "As for Alex Lewis, as of Friday he was off of the team when he did a media interview and announced that he is transferring to Nebraska. Since he is no longer a Colorado Buffalo, it will be up to Nebraska to decide what discipline he might face."

Without Webb in the fold, junior quarterbacks Connor Webb and Nick Hirschman along with redshirt Shane Dillion will be in the running for the starting job. Colorado is will continue season prep through the summer.

Newark police also made an arrest in the case of the stabbing of Delaware senior quarterback Trevor Sasek, as Michael J. Creed, 25 and a Newark resident, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon after stabbing the quarterback in the chest and abdomen in a fight.
