Tottenham will be desperate for a win against Sunderland and hope for some help from Newcastle in the final day of the English Premier League season.
Spurs currently trail Arsenal by one point, and know if Arsenal win at Newcastle, then Tottenham will miss out on the Champions League for next season.
With the matter out of their hands, all Spurs can do is beat Sunderland at White Hart Lane, which is something Andre Villas-Boas will tell his players.
"What we're striving to achieve is 72 points, which would be our highest in the Premier League," Villas-Boas said. "If we are able to make (the top four), it will be wonderful.
"If not, the reference of 72 points is something that will make us proud. Anyway, we are extremely satisfied with the way the season has gone."
While Sunderland have nothing to play for, with Wigan's loss to Arsenal Tuesday confirming their status in the Premier League for next season, Paolo Di Canio will want his side to end the season with a victory.
"It was the main thing since I signed the contract so the fact that we keep this club up is a big, big achievement," Di Canio said. "We were in real trouble at the moment I signed the contract, in my opinion, so what we have done is an amazing job.
"I'm happy for the chairman, happy for the environment because they gave me a big chance to show my quality.
"I want to be clear with them because it happens that they switch off a little bit like against Aston Villa when we desperately needed the points. You can imagine there is a habit in this environment, in the brain, because they done well in the last game - they can have a holiday. I am not going to accept that against any side.
"On Sunday we can win, we can draw, we can lose, but if we lose we lose with dignity, we respect our colours and the fans that will follow us."
Spurs will welcome back left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto, while Younes Kaboul, William Gallas and Sandro remain ruled out. Danny Rose is ineligible to play against his parent club, meaning Jack Colback is likely to be asked to play in the left-back position. Craig Gardner and Stephane Sessegnon are suspended.
