NBA Playoff Standings: Spurs Half Way to Finals... Again! Heat & Pacers Take Off Wednesday

The NBA Playoff Standings saw interesting results on Wednesday as the San Antonio Spurs are now half way to the NBA Finals. It wasn't pretty, but the Spurs beat the Memphis Grizzlies 93-89 taking a 2-0 lead in their series. It is interesting to point out that the Miami Heat have yet to even begin their series and the Spurs already have to wins.

The Grizzlies are probably not panicking, but this game truly got away from them. Not that they are the Golden State Warriors blowing a double-digit lead late in the game, but had Memphis hit free throws and taken complete advantage of Spurs' cold streaks, this game would have been over in regulation.

Memphis made 18-26 free throws and shot just 34 percent from the field. Yuck! They completely dominated the boards grabbing 60 rebounds, though about six came in a scoreless possession, but the Spurs had just 46. It was a decent game for Zach Randolph as he scored 16 points, 14 more than Game 1. It's not the best of news, but it's improvement, which is something the Grizzlies should hang their hands on.

However, realistically speaking, for three quarters and a half, the Grizzlies did not look like they deserved to play in the same series with the Spurs. San Antonio is breakig them down completely. For the second consecutive game, the Spurs had 20-plus assists. All 12 Spurs starters finished with double-digits scoring and they completely dominated this offensive matchup.

All in all, the Spurs still have to show up in Memphis. The Grizzlies have yet to lose at home and the FedEx Forum should be loud in Game 3. The Spurs have been here before, last year against the Oklahoma City Thunder they had a 2-0 lead and they couldn't keep up with the Thunder's pace and lost four straight games. The Grizzlies have also closed out their series by winning four straight games.

As for the Heat and Pacers, their action finally begins tomorrow. The Spurs aren't the most popular team in to watch and now fans will get to watch and hate on LeBron James and the Heat. Aside from Heat bandwagoners, there are probably a lot of people who want to see them lose, which is why they will root for the Pacers in this series. It's no mystery, a lot of people still hate James and will look forward to seeing him mess up.

Here are what the NBA Playoff Standings look like after Tuesday's results entering into Wednesday morning.
Spurs 2-0 Grizzlies- Game 3, Saturday @9 p.m. ET
