Chelsea are set to seal the signing of Dutch starlet Marco Van Ginkel from Vitesse Arnhem.
The Blues already have a plethora of attacking and young talent at their disposal and another one is to be added, with the English Premier League club reportedly agreeing a move, according to Goal.com.
Chelsea have a good working relationship with Vitesse, who had Tomas Kalas and Patrick Van Aanholt on loan from the Europa League champions this season.
There were reports that Chelsea could make a move for prolific striker Wilfried Bony from Vitesse, but now it looks like it might be the £8 million rated ($12 million) Van Ginkel instead.
The 20-year-old is very highly-rated in Holland and has been tracked by Ajax and PSV Eindhoven. The box-to-box midfielder will find it difficult to break into the Chelsea team, though, if he does complete a move, and the Blues might choose to send the youngster out on loan.
Meanwhile, playmaker Juan Mata gave a glowing tribute to Rafa Benitez, whose stint with Chelsea ended with the Spaniard agreeing a move to Napoli.
Chelsea finished their gruelling season with a postseason trip to the U.S., where they played Manchester City in two friendly games.
Mata expressed his sadness at seeing the likes of Paolo Ferreira and Yossi Benyoun, who are out of contract at the club, leave Stamford Bridge while thanking Benitez for his efforts this season, which saw Chelsea win the Europa League and finish third in the English Premier League.
"Being the last two games of the season, there was time to say goodbye to some of the guys," Mata wrote on his official blog.
"Like Paulo Ferreira (I already told you how much I admire him), Benayoun (a great person and forever a friend) and Rafa Benitez and his staff.
"It's been a pleasure to share these months with Rafa, someone I've learnt so many things from and with whom we managed to win the Europa League. Good luck, Rafa, and thank you for everything."
