Yankees Red Sox Thunder Scare During Rain Delay (Video)

The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox met up Sunday night and they had to play through the rain and, unfortunately for them, they also felt the wrath of Mother Nature. They were went, but it wasn't the rain that had them shaking in their boots it was the roaring thunder that had both sides of the bench trembling and looking for cover.

The Yankees wound up losing the game 3-0 as the Red Sox pitching continues to dominate. It was a mixture of miraculous hitting with a sprinkle of Clay Buchholz on the mound for Boston. Buchholz improved to 8-0 after going five innings of 2-hit baseball in this rain-shortened outing.

As far as the offense, the Red Sox supplied it with a force out by Mike Napoli followed by two solo home runs by Jose Iglesias and David Ortiz. For Iglesias, it was his first home run of the season. He swung at a first pitch sinker and sent it over the wall. Ortiz added more insurance in the sixth inning. Following top half of the sixth, the game was called off by rain. Though the Yankees lost, they at least gave their fans a great laugh as Brett Gardner could not get a hold of himself.
