Game 1 is minutes away!

It's the Miami Heat vs. San Antonio Spurs in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. If you can't watch or listen to the game, check out this live blog with up to the minute scoring updates and play-by-play with stats and photos of Game 1 as the Spurs and Heat attempt to take the 1-0 lead as both teams search for another championship.

San Antonio has captured four trophies in their history. Their first came in 1999 after they defeated the New York Knicks and Tim Duncan was there to help the team win it in five games. Dwyane Wade has been the driving force behind the Heat as they captured their first championship in 2006 after defeating the Dallas Mavericks. They faltered in 2011, but they are back for their third straight Finals appearance looking to capture their second straight championship.

Last season, it could have been the Heat vs. Spurs in the championship. However, it was the Oklahoma City Thunder who managed to upset the Spurs after being down 0-2 in the 2012 Western Conference Finals. Eventually, Miami surfaced as the winners of that series as LeBron James captured his first title and now instead of being mocked for never winning a championship, the only question is will James catch up to Michael Jordan?

That's a separate argument. The focus right now is the Spurs and Heat. Though the Heat have the best player in the world, a lot of people are giving the Spurs a chance in this matchup. It has to do with Gregg Popovich's coaching style and the players on the team. They seem to have a great set of players who aren't flashy and simply know how to get the job done.

Miami is a completely different team. Many wonder how much coaching Erik Spoelstra really does. The Heat are all about flash, heck Wade's nickname is Flash. Although he can't run the floor now like he did when running the show in Miami, Wade is all about alley hoops, fastbreak opportunities and circus finishes at the basket. The Spurs meanwhile are about fundamentals and pick and rolls.

Welcome to the new age versus old school ball. Duncan is one of the original big men left from an era of basketball where it was believed that a dominant center was necessary. Now the Heat are changing things up with their small lineups and attack from the perimeter. Who will win?
