Former NY Giants running back Tiki Barber responded to some comments from Warren Sapp, saying that what he said about Simeon Rice being twice as good as Michael Strahan was not very intelligent.
According to ESPN.com, Barber said that Sapp was an idiot for the comments while he was at the Big Daddy Celebrity Golf Classic at Oheka Castle on Monday, adding that is what Sapp wanted from the statement. Barber said Sapp wants to say idiotic things to get attention and the fact that he played for years with Strahan, he knows how great he was. He added how great of a teammate and serious player he was and that he was one of the best.
Sapp has been critical of Strahan for a while and he said that Rice was better than Strahan, despite the Giant having 141 sacks, fifth all-time. Sapp likes to stoke the media and he did it with those comments, saying that Rice was better than Strahan "every day of the week." He also added that Strahan lined up on the worst lineman and that he was a bust before switching sides on the line.
Barber knows Sapp as his twin brother player with him in Tampa Bay and Barber added that Warren doesn't know how good he was because he never played with him and that is opinion has no "credence"
"I hope Stray doesn't let it bother him," Barber added. "I don't think it does."
