After struggling for much of the start of the season, Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels has found his mid-season form. After a blow on inconsistent performances, Hamels is now looking to win his third-straight start against the New York Mets at Citi Field.

Hamels is 4-11with a 4.05 ERA thanks to several poor and uncharacteristic starts. He lost six straight starts at one point in the season, recording a 4.58 ERA through his first 17 outings. He was only able to last past seven innings only five times. But over his last three starts, Hamels has put up a 1.57 ERA going over seven innings in each start. He has only issued one walk in 23 innings.

New York will put up budding rookie Zach Wheeler who is 3-1 on the season with a 3.54 ERA. He has won two straight starts while allowing just two earned runs in 12 innings. The Met with the most success against Hamels is David Wright who is 19 for 57 off Hamels.

Hamels has had mixed results against New York as of late. He is 4-4 with a 5.26 ERA in his last 11 starts. He has not received the most run support this season, causing his early slump. He was receiving just 3.1 runs in his first 17 games. However, the Phillies hitters have had their way against the Mets. Friday's game was a perfect example when the Phillies scored 13 runs on the Mets. They have scored seven or more runs against the Mets in their last 10 meetings.
