Peter King New Website The MMQB: Monday Morning Quarterback Column Debuts On TheMMQB.com From Sports Illustrated As NFL Writer Gets Bill Simmons Grantland Style Site

The sports media and journalism landscape will be getting a new and anticipated addition on Monday morning, as NFL writer Peter King will unveil his brand new website through Sports Illustrated, called The MMQB, an NFL-centric site on Monday morning with his flagship column Monday Morning Quarterback.

King is often looked at as the one of the best, if not the best football writer in America and now he has the chance to put out a whole new slew of stories, in depth reporting and information at a higher rate with a staff of solid reporters as well, including Andrew Brandt and others. King was swayed to stay at Sports Illustrated when his contract came up after being offered the chance to work under the banner on his own site and the flagship part of it will be his weekly Monday Morning Quarterback column, which happens to also give the website its name.

King's new website has been compared to "Grantland", the site that ESPN gave lead star Bill Simmons, but King said that the two aren't that similar, as The MMQB will be covering only the NFL and football. King's MMQB column has become a must-read for football fans, players, executives and media types alike and he said that the new website will have that column along with a number of other features, including long form articles, shorter ones like the "10 Things I Think I Think" lists from his MMQB columns, as well as investigative reports and short content.

The website will also have a daily column called "3@3" that will feature an NFL player, coach, or executive answering three questions at 3 pm. Contributors will include Globe NFL writer Greg Bedard, former Jets and Giants beat writer Jenny Vrentas, and former USA Today reporter Robert Klemko as well as SI's media writer, Richard Deitsch, and Brandt, among others and King also said that during the first couple weeks there will be content from Tom Brady, Joe Namath, and actress Olivia Munn. King is considered to be one of the best writers out there when it comes to the NFL and his writing style and personal touch in his MMQB column have made people interested in the league flock to his writing in huge numbers.
