Giants Sweep Double Header Against Mets

The San Francisco Giants swept a day-night double header against the New York Mets on Monday, a day after being rained out at Citi Field in New York.

The first game featured a return to the win column for Giants' ace Tim Lincecum who struggled in the first three starts of the season posting a 10.54 ERA.

Lincecum got out of several jams in his five inning of work, but only allowed one run, while striking out eight batters, lowering his ERA to 8.20.

The Giants were powered by Nate Schierholtz and Buster Posey who each homered to give the Giants the 6-1 win.

The second game at night, followed the afternoon first game and featured a solid pitching performance by Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner.

Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval hit a three-run homer in the first inning to give the Giants all the runs they needed.  The home run gave Sandoval a tie with Willey Mays for the team record in the longest hitting streak to start the season at 16 games.

By sweeping the Mets, the Giants moved to 9-7 on the season, while the Mets fell to 8-8.
