Fantasy Football Recap: Peyton Manning Throws 7 Touchdowns, Julius Thomas Legit Tight End Sleeper, Wes Welker PPR Machine

The Denver Broncos started off the season with a bang after defeating the Baltimore Ravens 49-27 on opening night in the NFL and one reason was due to the play of future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, who threw seven touchdowns in the game, something that hadn't been done in 40 years.

Manning was the fantasy star on Thursday, throwing for 462 yards and seven scores in the game and now he is on pace for over 100 (wink wink) and Julius Thomas was one of the beneficiaries, as he had two touchdowns along with  Demaryius Thomas and Wes Welker, who each had two. Many fantasy owners were worried that Manning wouldn't be able to spread the ball around enough this season with the addition of Welker, but Manning put that issue to bed on Thurssday.

The Broncos got a bit of revenge against the Ravens after losing to them in the playoffs last season and Knowshon Moreno started at running back and got the most carries, while Montee Ball and Ronnie Hillman were behind him. Ball finished with 24 yards in his first career game and both Thomas and Thomas went over 100 yards receiving in the game.

D. Thomas finished with five catches for 161 yards and two touchdowns while getting targeted 11 times and Welker was targeted that many times as well while making nine catches for 67 yards and two scores. J. Thomas finished with five catches for 110 yards and two touchdowns and now he is a very solid sleeper option at tight end. Decker had just two catches but more will come and the true story in this game was Manning.

Peyton is amazing and he did something that no one had done in 44 years according to ESPN.com and now the Broncos will continue their run back to the playoffs with the Giants next week.

"It was an awesome night," Manning told NBC after the 49-27 Broncos victory. "Our offensive line did a heck of a job against a great pass rush, gave me good time."
