Eddie Royal, Vincent Brown and Keenan Allen Fantasy Football Options For Chargers At WR After Malcom Floyd Injury

The San Diego Chargers couldn't hold it together for a win last week against the Houston Texans after allowing a big comeback and all the team needed to do it themselves was a dreaded East coast trip for a West coast team, as Philip Rivers led the way in a 33-30 victory on Sunday.

The Eagles once again were very productive on offense under Chip Kelly and despite Michael Vick throwing for over 400 yards, the team could not pull out the victory after some nice plays down the stretch for the Chargers. The two teams were fantastic on offense, while both units struggled on defense, combining to allow over 1,000 yards in a stat sheet more common from Kelly's days in Oregon. DeSean Jackson and Vick put up a ton of yardage, but Rivers earned the win with three touchdown passes before Nick Novak won the game on a long field goal try with under 10 seconds to go.

Vick put up career high numbers and he scored three total touchdowns on the day, but Rivers was the main reason why the Chargers won, as he kept the offense on the field for over half the game and directed the unit to gain over 530 yards, including 419 yards himself. Rivers missed on just 11 of 47 passes and both Antonio Gates and Malcom Floyd put up good numbers. The Chargers and fantasy owners were worried when Floyd had to leave the game on a stretcher after suffering a big hit, but reports after the game said that he was okay after getting tests at an area hospital.

The yardage numbers in the game were welcome news for fantasy owners and despite losing the game, DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy put up video game numbers, with Jackson making nine catches for nearly 200 yards and one touchdown, while McCoy added 53 yards on the ground and 114 yards on five catches. The Eagles had their chances in the game, but after taking the lead the team turned the ball over and it set up the exciting finish for the Chargers.

Antonio Gates was back to his old ways with 124 yards on eight catches and Floyd made five catches for 102 yards before leaving the game. The Chargers showed some depth at the position after losing Floyd, as Eddie Royal and Vincent Brown stepped up and each could be a sleeper option going forward if Floyd is out for an extended period of time. Ryan Mathews looked good on 16 carries for the Chargers and if he stays healthy he could be a fantasy force this year.

Vick is now a prime fantasy football option for owners after throwing for over 400 yards and over his first two games he has six total touchdowns and he has looked very comfortable in Chip Kelly's offense. Vick has the weapons to continue putting up numbers, but if the defense continues to give up yardage like they did for the Chargers, it could be a lot of shootout games for the Eagles this season.
