The New England Patriots and the Tama Bay Buccaneers are matching up on Sunday and that means one of the best quarterbacks n the game and one of the best cornerbacks in the game will be playing against each other, as Tom Brady and Darrelle Revis will be facing off.
Brady knows Revis all too well from his time with the New York Jets and now he will face off against the team on Sunday in Foxboro. According to Pro Football Talk, Brady said that Revis is the best cornerback that he has played against and with the Pats dealing with injury issues up and down the offense, it could be a long day on both sides, as Revis likely will matchup against top wideout Julian Edelman in some sets, although Greg Schiano's system may keep him in zone more than he would like.
Brady spoke about Revis and how he plays the game and said that he hasn't played against anyone better and that he is a very skilled corner that can play against receivers of any size. Brady also remarked that there's "nothing negative" about the way he plays the game and said that Revis compares with Charles Woodson and Champ Bailey from his past experience in the league.
Both Brady and Revis have been though tough knee surgeries and now they will face off on Sunday once again, but this time Revis will be in a different uniform. Brady and the Patriots have been dealing with some offensive issues this season after letting Wes Welker and Danny Woodhead go and they have also been hurt by the losses of Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola to injuries and also obviously the Aaron Hernandez murder case.
Brady has been solid so far this season, but he was frustrated last Thursday against the Jets when receivers like Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins continued to drop passes when he hit them right in their hands. Brady was visibly frustrated at times and now the team has the chance to improve to 3-0 despite not yet playing their best football. The team defeated the Bills on a last second field goal and was able to squeak by the Jets 13-10 last Thursday.
The team is ranked just 21st in passing yards per game, but that could change with a nice game on Sunday, while the team is ranked 13th in rush yards per game and with Shane Vereen out till Week 11, that could take a hit as well. The team is fourth in passing defense now after playing the Bills and Jets, but the team is ranked 28th in rushing defense and that could be trouble, as Doug Martin is coming to town.
