Blake Receives Death Threats

Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Blake received death threats on his Twitter feed after he missed the three-pointer that would have seen the Lakers go level with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night.

Blake, who starred for the Lakers in their decisive Game 7 against the Denver Nuggets with 19 points, and his wife Kristen felt the brunt of frustrated Lakers fans after his team's Game 2 loss in the Western Conference semifinals.

"I hope you family gets murdered," read one tweet. Kristen re-tweeted it with a comment: "Wow".

She also tweeted: "Now that I have successfully blocked over 500 people, it's time to say my prayers and go to bed."

Blake said his wife told him about the tweets. "I didn't see it. She told me about it. That's why I don't look at that crap. I just let it be."

"It's pretty disappointing that there's a lot of hateful people out there, Blake said after the Lakers' practice session on Thursday.

"You move on. I just don't appreciate it when it's toward my family. You can come at me all you want. But when you say things about my wife and kids, it makes me upset."
