ESPN will provide the coverage of this pivotal game as a win would be critical for either team. The Mexicans, who were dynamite in last year's Olympics, find themselves in fifth place in the CONCACAF division. In eight games played, they have only racked up eight points. However, they have a great chance of correcting their wrongs if they beat fourth place Panama.
Panama also has eight points through their first eight games in the qualifier. The only difference is that Panama is currently in the tournament, while the Mexicans are occupying fifth place and on the outside looking in.
Fans are giving Mexico the edge as they think El Tri can easily defeat the Panamanians. 66 percent of fans believe Mexico will walk out of Estadio Azteca with the victory and in possession of fourth place. 26 percent see things going for Panama, while close to eight percent are predicting a draw, which would keep both teams tied and really make their last match of qualifiers extremely interesting.
Whatever fans see in Mexico's team might prove faulty. Mexico has not beaten the Panamanian national team since 2007. Back in Sept. 9 of 2007, Mexico shutout Panama, winning 1-0. The two nations then finished their following matches in a 1-1 draw in July of 2009 and a 0-0 draw in June. 2013. Since then, Panama has won both matches in the Gold Cup, 2-1.
The Mexicans will play in front of their hometown. Find out if they can pull off a much needed win. Meanwhile, Panama will attempt to play the spoiler as they will try to defeat the Mexicans and secure their spot in the 2014 World Cup.
