Jeremy Lin Rumors: Houston Rockets Point Guard Out Two Weeks As Team Mulls Trade Packages Before Deadline

The Houston Rockets are right in the thick of things in the western conference after beating their division rivals in the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday and now the team must deal with having point guard Jeremy Lin out of action for a couple weeks.

According to ESPN.com, Lin was injured last week on Wednesday against the Atlanta Hawks in the first quarter and now he will be out for at least two weeks.  Lin is dealing with a right knee sprain and will be held out for a bit, but the injury is not considered too serious and the team has Patrick Beverley on the bench to come in and start, as he had the starting job before getting hurt earlier in the season. Lin was in the starting lineup last week for James Harden while he was banged up and now Lin will be out with an injury.

Lin has been playing very well this season while averaging 15.3 points and 4.5 assists in 16 games and now the team is just 1.5 games out of first place in the division. Harden is leading the team in scoring and he was back in action against the Spurs, leading the way with 31 points while Terrence Jones had 16 rebounds in the matchup.

The Rockets have been one of the best offensive teams in the league and Lin has been a big part of that, helping the team rank first I scoring with over 105 points per game. The defense hasn't been great, but that should get better and Howard has helped with the rebounding and the team now ranks second in the league in rebounds per game. The team is dealing with trade speculation about Omer Asik and right now they have a high asking price, while Lin appears to be off the table for now.
