Pacquiao, Heat vs Celtics, Devils vs Kings: Headline a Busy Saturday

The world of sports will be busy today.

Important sporting events in boxing, hockey, basketball, tennis and horse racing highlight the weekend for their respective followers.

If you are a fan of all five, might as well just ask your local pub to hand over the keys so you can open up shop.

It all started at 9 AM with the Woman's French Open Finals featuring Maria Sharapova and Sara Errani. Sharapova was crowned champion as she won in straight sets.

Then at at 4 PM, the Belmont Stakes will be on centerstage.

People were disappointed after hearing I'll Have Another would not be in action.

This will affect the amount of views the event will receive, as I'll Have Another was seeking a Triple Crown. You can count on true horse racing fans to tune in regardless.

Things get a little congested at 8 PM.

The NHL will Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals taking place tonight. The Los Angeles Kings will once again try wrapping up the series agains the New Jersey Devils.

The puck is set drop a little after 8 PM.

Thirty minutes later and 1,000 miles south, the Miami Heat will host the Boston Celtics in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Expect a lot of remotes to be at hand. When a whistle stops the action in one game, the channel will be changed.

Things will simmer down a little after 11PM.

At least on television because if the Kings win, Los Angeles will be partying all night long. Either Boston or Miami will be celebrating when Game 7 is all said and done.

Barring an overtime in any of these two games, Manny Pacquiao's fight should take centertage at around midnight.

Pacquiao will face Timothy Bradley, in a long awaited match.

Fans say they refuse to watch any boxing until Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are in the same ring.

Pacquiao is likely to attract millions regardless. With the WBO welterweight title on the line, I doubt boxing fanatics will miss this one.

When it is all said and done, the sports world will have plenty of news to look forward to on Sunday morning.

Just sit back and enjoy.
