Mike Woodson Fired: NY Knicks Coach Future Uncertain After James Dolan Meeting, Carmelo Anthony Confirms Trade Rumors as Free Agency Exit Possible in 2014

At this point in the New York Knicks season, Carmelo Anthony is simply tossing his hands in the air. The team has been inconsistent at best, unable to string together consecutive impressive games. Now the team is facing several trade rumors while Mike Woodson is once again finding his job security in question and as free agency looms Anthony admits anything is possible.

The Knicks just put up their third-straight loss falling to the Portland Trail Blazers. Anthony had not answers on what the correct answers were for New York. The star said any decision whether it be a trade of him or the firing of Woodson would be the result of a decision made by James Dolan and not him.

"At this point, I don't really know what's going to happen, if something's going to happen," Anthony said, via ESPNNewYork.com. "If something was to happen then it's out of my hands."

Anthony notes that distractions are not hurting him right now despite trade rumors and free agency questions constantly being brought up. However, right now Anthony wants to win and team is simply not doing that. The team is running out of time to make the postseason. They currently sit 2 ½ games out of the eighth place in the Eastern Conference as they prepare to play their next 17 of 26 games on the road.

Will Woodson make it past the NBA All-Star break? The New York Post reports that is not likely going to be the case. The Knicks ownership is reportedly considering firing the head coach. He met with Dolan following the loss to the Blazers, but so far no decision has come from it. One person still in Woodson's corner, JR Smith.

"I love Coach Woodson," Smith said. "I think he's done a great job. But it's out of my hands. So I would hope not (if management opts to make a change), but if it does then we have to live with it."

Anthony told reporters there is no need for the team to panic at this point. He still believes there is time for things to turn around as long as everyone remains together.

"We have to stick together as a team," Anthony said. "Our main focus is to win as many games as we can right now and make a push for the postseason. Are there games that we are losing that can come back to bite us? Yeah, but we have to keep looking forward."
