The NASCAR Bristol race is live Sunday from Bristol Motor Speedway and the Food City 500 starts up just past 1:00 pm ET from Tennessee with Dale Earnhardt and Jimmie Johnson and this comes after last year saw Kasey Kahne win the race and the event will be streaming online from the Fox live stream website.
The race comes after Denny Hamlin took the pole for the event and he put together a record lap to do it and now he will be in the top position as the green flag goes and that will give him a very good chance to win the race on Sunday and it broke a mark set by his teammate in Kyle Busch last year. Brad Keselowski won in Las Vegas and now Earnhardt will be looking to get back into things after starting off with top finishes in the top two in the first couple races of the season and he has been driving very well and is looking to keep that up.
Keselowski and Joey Logano have been winning the poles coming in and now Hamlin has one and he has the chance for a good day, while Keselowski finished in second and Logano ended up in fourth, while Matt Kenseth was in third and that should give the front end of the race some action to start the day. Danica Patrick and Tony Stewart continued their struggles and they will be in the back of the field and it comes after there were a number of crashes earlier in the week in practice and Patrick was one of them as well.
Kyle Busch won the Nationwide race on Saturday and he won for the 16th time at Bristol and he finished ahead of Kyle Larson and has been running real hard recently and he has won three straight now at Bristol. Five of those are on the top circuit, while seven are in the Nationwide and he has dominated at the track and that will give him some momentum heading into next week.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup standings has Dale Earnhardt Jr. in first after he has one win and three top five finishes to start the season and Keselowski has the same line and he has also won a pole, while Kevin Harvick is next on the standings ahead of Jimmie Johnson and Joey Logano. Jeff Gordon is next in the standings and Carl Edwards is tied with Matt Kenseth and Denny Hamlin and Ryan Newman round out the top 10.
