Washington Redskins Rumors: Ryan Clark, Kenny Britt, Jared Allen Free Agent Options? Robert Griffin III Ditching Knee Brace As Andre Roberts Signs

The Washington Redskins have been off to a solid start this offseason in free agency after signing Jason Hatcher, Andre Roberts along with Tracy Porter and now they could be looking at Ryan Clark, Kenny Britt and Jared Allen as free agent options.

The Redskins still have money to spend and moves to make and they are looking at Ryan Clark and Kenny Britt on the free agent market to help shore up the secondary and the offense. Clark has generated interest from a number of teams, including the Baltimore Ravens, NY Jets and Vikings, while Britt has also visited a number of teams. Clark is a bit on the older side of things, but he still has the talent to play in the NFL and can bring veteran leadership to the secondary. The team could also look at Thomas DeCoud or Chris Clemons as other safety options.

Britt could be another addition to the offense behind Pierre Garcon after the team signed back Santana Moss and along with younger players like Leonard Hankerson and Andre Roberts, the position could end up being one of great depth. Adding Jason Hatcher was a wise move after the pass rush wasn't consistent enough last season and along with Brian Orakpo the team should have a tough front line. Adding Tracy Porter to a secondary that struggled last season will be a solid move and it came after the team lost out on Brandon Browner and Walter Thurmond and now Porter joins DeAngelo Hall as the likely starting corners.

The Cowboys let Hatcher go after he had 11 sacks last season and he signed with the Redskins on a four year deal for nearly $30 million. He had his best season last year and now the Redskins hope he can replicate what he did last year and while the contract likely will last just two years before a move, if he plays well the team will try to keep him. Jared Allen could be another option if his price is not too high and the Redskins come in after being 20th in the league in passing yards allowed per game and 17th in rushing yards allowed. The team went 3-13 this past season and they are looking for a quick rebound with Robert Griffin coming back after his knee injury and he's ditching the brace.
