NHL Standings Playoff Schedule: Rangers Win Flyers Game 7 Play Pittsburgh Penguins Next After 4-2 Series Over Blue Jackets

The NHL standings and playoffs schedule has the Pittsburgh Penguins into the next round against the New York Rangers after they won 4-2 against the Blue Jackets and the Rangers won Game 7 2-1 against the Flyers and now they matchup next in the second round.

The Penguins took control of the series after the first four game were all hard fought and 4-3, with the Blue Jackets getting their first ever postseason victory and now Pitt is up 3-2 heading into Game 6 and that will be on Monday in Columbus. Chris Kunitz and Kris Letang along with Jussi Jokinen scored for the Penguins and that last name scored the goal that put the team ahead and now the second seed is in control and may follow the Boston Bruins into the next round of the playoffs.

Columbus has set many franchise milestones and they played their first Game 5 in their history and they got a goal from Boone Jenner and now they will have their first Game 6. Sidney Crosby still hasn't scored and the team put a ton of shots on goal, outshooting 51 to 24 in the game and that left Sergei Bobrovsky with 48 saves in the game and both teams had one power play goal. Crosby set up one of the goals and he will need to get on track heading into the next game, as the Penguins have shown that the Blue Jackets are a very tough matchup and will not be giving up in the series despite being down 3-2.

The Boston Bruins advanced into the next round after winning against the Detroit Red Wings and they are matching up with the Montreal Canadiens in the second round and they were the first team to advance after sweeping the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Sunday schedule has the Philadelphia Flyers and the New York Rangers matching up at 12 pm noon and they are tied in the series 2-2 and NY will be looking to bounce back after losing Game 4 in Philly.

The St. Louis Blues are on the brink after losing in Game 5 and they now play in Game 6 against the Chicago Blackhawks and that will be at the United Center. The Stanley Cup champions got the winning goal from Patrick Kane and now they are up 3-2 and have the chance to advance and that was the third straight win of the series after the team lost the first two games. The Anaheim Ducks and Dallas Stars have their Game 6 match up and the Ducks are up 3-2 as well and have the chance to close it out in Dallas.
