The 2014 NFL draft is on Thursday and Mel Kiper and Todd McShay have made their final mock draft picks and projections for the first round and they have put up their predictions for the top 10 and the experts pick names like Johnny Manziel, Jadeveon Clowney, Khalil Mack, Sammy Watkins and Greg Robinson as some of the players that could be called for the Texans, Rams, Jaguars, Browns and Raiders.
Mel Kiper opened his mock draft season with Johnny Manziel as the number one pick for the Houston Texans and now he has put Clowney in that spot and that is the pick that everyone is expecting the team to make. Kiper picked Mack as a first overall pick in another one of his mock drafts, but now it looks like Clowney is the consensus option for the Texans, who still could trade the pick at the last minute if someone makes a deal they like.

Clowney was considered to be the top overall pick before last season, but he couldn't come out and now he looks like he will be the number one pick come Thursday. The most interesting player to watch is Johnny Manziel, as he could go anywhere from number two to number 30 depending on who you ask and one thing is for certain, 31 teams are going to wonder whether or not they missed on this guy. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers look like a realistic option, while the Oakland Raiders and the Cleveland Browns reportedly are not interested.
Kiper picked Manziel to the Texans in his first mock draft, but that was months ago and now it looks like the team will opt for one of the later round quarterbacks instead. The draft is very deep this year and names like Aaron Murray, Zach Mettenberger and AJ McCarron will be available in the later rounds. The Texans and the Rams have some interesting options when it comes to trades and there are a number of teams that could look to jump up with the draft just a day away.
The wide receiver position is very deep this year and Kiper predicts that up to eight, count 'em EIGHT players at the position could go in the first round. Sammy Watkins is considered to be the top name, while Mike Evans is next and after that players like Marqise Lee, Allen Robinson, Brandin Cooks, Jordan Matthews and Kelvin Benjamin could also go. The running back position is also deep, but this year once again they likely will spill into the second round and names like Carlos Hyde, Andre Williams and Tre Mason could be first off the board.
