The 2014 French Open is into the finals now and things are live on the NBC Sports Network Live Extra and NBC with a live stream online after being on the ESPN and the WatchESPN website from Roland Garros and the men's side has Rafael Nadal against Novak Djokovic, while the women's side has Simona Halep and Maria Sharapova are playing the finals over the weekend.
The 2014 French Open is live on ESPN and the WatchESPN website for the quarterfinal round and Rafael Nadal will be playing along with Andy Murray as they try to advance at Roland Garros on Wednesday after Novak Djokovic did Tuesday and now Rafa and Dojo look like they are heading for a final showdown.
Nadal matches up with David Ferrer in a rematch of the final from last year in the quarterfinals and he is looking to win his fifth straight French Open, which has never happened before. Nadal made it to four straight quarters for the first time in his career and his match will be second after Svetlana Kuznetsova and Simona Halep play and that will be opposite Andy Murray and Gael Monfils. Sara Errani and Andrea Petkovic made it through after numerous upsets on the women's side with Serena Williams, Li Na and Caroline Wozniacki all getting upset.
Roger Federer was upset before the quarters and did not make it out of the fourth round for the first time in years at the French and now Ernests Gulbis is through to his first semi at a major. Gulbis comes in against Djokovic and he will be a heavy underdog in that match with the way Dojo has been playing this year.
Rafael Nadal is through to the quarters and he is there for the fifth straight time and that is the first time he has done that at Roland Garros and he is also looking to win for the fifth time in as many years and he would be the first player to do that as well. Nadal has lost only once at the French and has over 60 wins there and now he is the favorite along with Djokovic after Roger Federer was defeated, although no one had Fed pegged for the finals, as he never performed all that great compared to Nadal in Paris.
Nadal has Djokovic's number here and Dojo may think he finally has Rafa's after beating him in the run up to the tournament, but Roland Garros is always a different animal when it comes to Nadal. Rafael Nadal is now into the round of 16 and there have been a spate of upsets, including Serena Williams and Venus Williams and now the women's side will have a new champion as well. The French Open 2014 is live at Roland Garros and the tennis major tournament has coverage for the quarters in the men's and women's draw rounds through the week on ESPN and NBC from the WatchESPN website and the NBC Sports Network Live Extra and players like Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Maria Sharapova and Andy Murray have advanced while Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Li Na, Stan Wawrinka and Caroline Wozniacki were upset.
