US Olympic Swimming Trials 2012 Results: Phelps and Lochte in Another Tight Race

Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte continue to impress at the Olympic trials in Omaha.

The two swimmers feed off of each other's energy and have had close finishes in the trials.

Saturday night, they did not disappoint while participating in the 200m Individual Medley. It was an outstanding performance by both racers who finished more than four seconds ahead of the competition.

Phelps beat out Lochte by .09 seconds. Both races flirted with the Olympic record held by Lochte at 1:54.0.

Phelps finished in 1:54.84, while Lochte came in at 1:54.93.

In other Finals that took place Saturday night, Lochte participated in the 200m Backstroke. He finished in first place posting a 1:54.54. Tyler Clary finished .34 seconds behind Lochte to take second place. Clary's final time was 1:54.88.

Jessica Hardy finished in first place in probably the closest Final in the Olympic trials this summer. All the racers finished within a second of first place.

Hardy finished in 53.96 and Missy Franklin trailed her by .19 after finishing in 54.15. The eighth place racer, Madison Kennedy finished .87 seconds from first place after posting a 54.83.

Elizabeth Beisel and Franklin will attempt to qualify for the 200m Backstroke as the Finals will take place Sunday night.

The Men's 100m Butterfly, 50m Freestyle and Women's 800m Freestyle finals will also be decided on Sunday.
