Frank Lampard Officially Signs With New York City FC After Chelsea Career To Join David Villa

The move of Frank Lampard to New York City FC in the MLS was long rumored and now the deal is official, as he was unveiled this week and now he has come in on a two year deal with the new franchise, which will start playing in 2015.

Pro Soccer Talk reports that Lampard signed a two year deal and this comes after David Villa, goalie Josh Saunders and former Impact Jeb Brovsky were also signed. The three players are out on loan now and it's expected that Lampard will get the same treatment until the team officially starts playing.

New York City FC will play at Yankee Stadium and Lampard now is one of the highest profile signings for the MLS. Lampard spent over a decade with Chelsea and he won a number of titles, including UEFA Champions League, multiple Premier League titles and also four FA Cups and now he heads to the MLS.
