The New York Yankees and Texas Rangers are playing live on the MLB schedule from Globe Life Park in Arlington on Wednesday and it comes after NY won a crazy game on Tuesday and now Hiroki Kuroda takes on Colby Lewis and the matchup is a big one for the Yanks as they try and stay in the playoff race and Brian Cashman is working the phones trying to get deals done at the deadline.

The Yankees come in after winning a wild game against Texas on Tuesday that saw them go up big before allowing the team to come back and they won 12-11 heading into the finale. The Yankees have not been scoring much and they are trying to finish out this series strong before heading into the Boston Red Sox series on Friday and that will be at Fenway Park. The Yankees may pull off some moves heading into the deadline and they could use a bat, as they are ranked in the bottom half of the league in runs, batting average and on base percentage.

The Yankees are ranked 18th in the league in ERA and they are coming into a series with the Red Sox and they will see John Lackey on Friday night. Kuroda has been solid for the Yankees and is the only one left over from the rotation at the start of the season and the team now has 55 wins on the year and they are right there in the wild card. Derek Jeter comes in with solid numbers against Colby Lewis and the Yankees are looking to get a win and they have Brett Gardner playing well and he has three home runs in two games.

The Rangers have been terrible this season and have dealt with tons of injuries likely the Yankees, but theirs have been even worse. The Mariners, Angels and Athletics are all well ahead of the Rangers and the Astros are moving along and now Texas will look to get a win here to get the series after winning the opener. The Yankees have the chance to stay in this race and they need a win on Wednesday and this will be one of the last games for Jeter against the AL west opponents.
