Timberwolves Rumors: Kevin Love Calls Out Minnesota, Playoffs Or Bust

Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star forward Kevin Love calls out team and organization to make a playoff run this upcoming season.

Love revealed on Sunday that his desire to stay in Minnesota, long-term, may have run its course if management does not improve the team's roster.

In an interview with Yahoo! Sports, Love expressed his irritation at being the only member of Team USA that has never appeared in an NBA playoff game.

"My patience is not high," Love told Yahoo! Sports. "Would yours be, especially when I'm a big proponent of greatness surrounding itself with greatness? All these (Team USA) guys seem to have great players around them.

"It's tough seeing all these guys that are young and older who have all played in the playoffs. When they start talking about that, I have nothing to talk about. If I don't make the playoffs next year I don't know what will happen."

Love, who agreed to a four-year, $62 million extension with the Timberwolves in January, averaged 26.0 points and 13.3 rebounds for Minnesota last season.

Love said he's happy with his contract, "but like anybody else, I want to win."

Timberwolves GM, David Kahn, told Yahoo! Sports that he has spoken with Love and expressed the team's plans.

"I'm sure Kevin has a sense of urgency," Kahn said. "I think the team demonstrated it could win last season before we were hit with a cascade of injuries. I thought we were on the right track and surely we would have competed for the eighth and final playoff spot if we remained healthy. Next season is shaping up to be better than last year."

So far this offseason, the Timberwolves have verbally agreed to a contract with guard Brandon Roy and traded for Rockets forward Chase Budinger. They have aslo agree to a four-year, $45 million offsheet with forward Nicolas Batum. Batum would prefer to join the Timberwolves, but the Portland Trail Blazers plan to match the offer.

Love told Yahoo! Sports that he approved of their additions, but still wants more help.

If the Wolves can't improve off of last season and make it to the playoffs, things could possibly turn ugly in Minnesota, and we may see yet another Superstar trying to force his way out of a small market team that has trouble to win.
