The NY Red Bulls and Montreal Impact are playing live on the CONCACAF Champions League schedule on Wednesday and the game from Stade Saputo starts up at 8 pm ET and has Tv coverage from Fox Sports 2 and is streaming live from Fox Soccer and Fox Sports Go as New York tries to keep things rolling through their MLS season against a league opponent.
The Red Bulls are firmly in the playoff chase this year and after playing so well last season, they are looking for another solid run and this tournament should help them push into the final stretch of the season. The Red Bulls won over CD FAS in their other CONCACAF matchup and Montreal is going to go hard in this game, as they have a chance to stay in things with a win. Thierry Henry likely will not be starting the matchup and Montreal comes in looking to win, as they rested Marco Di Vaio and Ignacio Piatti in their last MLS match.
The Bulls are right in the mix in the eastern conference standings and the way things are right now they are in a playoff spot. The team has been battling with a number of clubs in the standings and they are close with the Columbus Crew as well as the Philadelphia Union, Toronto FC along with the Houston Dynamo and Chicago Fire. Montreal is last in the standings and out of the playoff chase and right now NY is ahead in the fourth spot over Columbus with a one point lead.
The east has some very solid teams at the top and right now DC United is leading the conference table. The team has a slight lead over Sporting Kansas City and the New England Revolution and those three have been far and away the best three in the east this season. The Sounders have been the top team in the league this season and they just won the US Open Cup after a nice victory against the Philadelphia Union on Tuesday night.
