The Arizona Cardinals have Andre Ellington dealing with a foot injury and that means fantasy football owners should add Stepfan Taylor as his handcuff and backup, as the Cards have dropped Jonathan Dwyer from the starting lineup after his domestic violence arrest and that means Taylor will get the carries behind Ellington if he is limited or can't go on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.
According to CBS Sports, Ellington was once again limited in practice this week, but that comes as no surprise after he did that last week and played after that. Ellington has dealt with this foot injury in the past and already for this season and he has not yet missed time because of it. Ellington is a strong fantasy football option this week and fantasy owners worried about his injury should look at Stepfan Taylor, as Jonathan Dwyer is now out of the mix after his domestic violence arrest.
Dwyer wasn't much of a fantasy football option anyway, but he was the handcuff and backup for Ellington and now Taylor will get that role. Ellington has been averaging over 5.0 yards per carry this season and he is a strong receiver out of the backfield and he has been very valuable in PPR leagues. Taylor has not had much production this season so far, but with Dwyer out he should get a boost and any owners in deeper leagues with RB issues should take a look at him.
Ellington has been rushing the ball well and he nearly had a 100 yard game against the Giants last weekend, ending up with 15 carries for 91 yards, including 40 yards in the first half. Ellington had one catch in the game last week and now he has six catches for 37 yards along with 144 yards rushing this season. Ellington is averaging over five yards per carry and has 181 yards total this season and as long as he plays, fantasy owners should start him. Taylor had just one rush for five yards in two games this season and three catches for 21 yards and he has one touchdown receiving as well. Taylor should get a boost moving forward.
