Fantasy Football Busts Week 3: Demaryius Thomas, Alfred Morris, Darren Sproles, Brandon Marshall Disappoint Owners

The fantasy football schedule is into Week 4, but some owners are stewing about Week 3, as names like Demaryius Thomas, Alfred Morris, Darren Sproles, Brandon Marshall were major busts for owners and now those players will be looking for bounce back weeks on the schedule moving forward after coming in below projections over the weekend.

Brandon Marshall had a couple plays that got wiped out and one of those was a touchdown so that's a tough thing to deal with for fantasy owners. Many were hoping that Marshall would have a big game on Monday night to save their matchups, but that did not happen. Marshall was covered well and Martellus Bennett had two TDs from Jay Cutler and while the Bears won the game, Marshall only ended up with one catch for six yards on six targets.

Marshall had three touchdowns the week before and he is one of the best players in fantasy, but for owners this week he was not up to par. Marshall had triple digit catches last season and he is as valuable as anyone in PPR and he will be going forward this season. Demaryius Thomas had an up and down day and he also had a TD taken away from him and while he added a two point conversion at the end, it wasn't enough to save his day either. Thomas ended up with just four catches for 31 yards in the game against the Seahawks.

Alfred Morris also had a tough day and while he ended up with 77 yards, he did not catch a pass or score a TD. The Eagles and Redskins combined for 900 yards of offense but he did not have a great day and for some fantasy owners that meant a loss. Morris has been very solid this year and should be one of the best back again, but this week he was not up to par. Darren Sproles also was a disappointment in the same game and while he is not the feature back, he was coming off of his best game last week and only ended up with three catches for 30 yards and 20 yards rushing.

Thomas, Marshall, Morris and Sproles were all on my fantasy team and with Arian Foster out, it was recipe for disaster the way they played. Coming into the week we felt confident, but that's the NFL sometimes. Heading through the rest of the season these players should be considered strong starters and while they had a tough week, they all will be back.
