The Kansas City Royals and Cleveland Indians are playing live on the MLB schedule on Wednesday night and the AL central game starts at 7 pm ET on ESPN and the WatchESPN website for Wednesday night baseball and comes as KC is looking to stay in the wild card hunt.
The Royals can basically lock things in with a win and the matchup has Jason Vargas against Trevor Bauer and a win here would end the chance for the Indians to make it and would make it impossible for the Mariners to come back. The Royals are closing in on their first playoff berth in over a decade and they have the chance to finally put the Indians away after they stuck around all season.
Kansas City is looking for a fourth straight win on Wednesday night and they are one game back from the Detroit Tigers and they are both battling for the division title. Vargas comes in with an 11-10 record and the team is hoping that he can get things going and Michael Brantley comes in with solid numbers against him and he will be looking to mash. Bauer has been up and down this season and he is just 1-4 in his last 12 starts and the Indians are hoping that he can give them a solid performance on Wednesday.
Brantley is on a 14 game hitting streak and he has hit in all but one of his last 27 contests and now he will be the player to watch for the Indians. The team comes in ranked right in the middle of the league in runs and they are fourth in batting average and the Royals come in with a 7-1 win from last night and they have a final series against the Chicago White Sox and that will be on the road as well.
