The Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins are playing live on the NHL preseason schedule and the game starts up at 7:30 pm ET as these eastern conference teams matchup at Joe Louis Arena ahead of the start of the regular season and now Sidney Crosby looks to get things going after his team was eliminated in an upset against the Rangers in the playoffs.
The Penguins come into the game after being one of the best offensive teams in the league last year and they last played against the Wild on the road and lost. The team next plays the Anaheim Ducks and they are looking to wash out the taste from their 3-1 lead that they blew to the Rangers, who ended up going to the Stanley Cup finals.
The Red Wings come into the game after being in the middle of the pack last season in scoring and goals allowed and they will be looking to get that tighter. The team comes into the game after a shutout win against the Maple Leafs and they have another game on the road against the Leafs next and that will be on Friday night.
