Fantasy football owners have Ben Tate back to start in Week 5 and that means the Cleveland Browns likely will use Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell a bit less at RB after Tate returns from his injury, but after the way the two played, there is a good chance both West and Crowell will get a solid amount of touches moving forward, especially if Tate is limited in his comeback.
The Browns are happy to get Tate back, as he has missed time since getting injured in the first game this season and now he is ready to return. The Browns have gotten some strong play from Crowell and West and fantasy owners would be wise to hang onto those players for the time being. Tate was dealing with a knee injury and he has had injury issues in the past and he could go down again. West and Crowell are solid handcuff options and this week they should get carries with Tate coming back for the first time since Week 1.
West is not as good of a start option as Crowell, as he has not been in on goal line situations and Crowell has, meaning he will get more chances to score. With Tate coming back from being out since Week 1, there is a good chance he will be limited and that means at least for this week, owners could look at starting those other players. Tate came into this season as the starter after playing in 14 games last year with the Texans and coming in for Arian Foster.
Tate has had his chances and he has shown in the past he can handle being a starter. Back in 2011 he played in 15 games and had 942 yards while Foster was injured and he played last season with numerous injuries and showed how tough he can be. Crowell comes in after playing better than West over the first few weeks of the season and he has been working ahead of him in practice as well. This season he has 141 yards and three touchdowns, while West has more yards with 204, but he only has two scores in three games.
