After being a name in trade rumors for sixth months, Rick Nash still remains right where he started with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The former No.1 overall pick of the 2002 NHL Draft, Nash has consistently been one of the league's best offensive players during his NHL career with 289 goals scored in 674 games.
The nine-year veteran has scored 30 or more goals in seven of his past eight seasons, three seasons with at least 60 points and one 79-point year over that span.
The 28-year old is also a five-time All-Star and one of the games premiere forwards.
However, the Blue Jackets hopes of trading the sharp-shooter have remained to be a difficult task as GM Scott Howson has set a high price of Nash's services.
In an interview with TSN's Gino Reda, Howson stated that he's looking to acquire multiple NHL-ready forwards in a swap for Nash.
"He's an elite player, he's been a tremendous ambassador for our franchise and our city and we're very comfortable with the value we've placed on him and until we get that value, we're going to keep working away at it."
The New York Rangers were frontrunners in the pursuit of Nash prior to the trade deadline, but ultimately refused to meet the demands of Howson.
