In less than in a few hours, the first round of the British Open will begin. More than likely, people on the east coast of the western hemisphere will have retired to bed, while the west coast might catch a bit of the action.
ESPN and ESPN3 will have all the coverage for the 2012 British Open. Starting at 4 a.m. eastern time, you can catch the action on ESPN. At 7 a.m. Eastern Time ESPN3 will carry the encore presentation.
All the golfers will tee off tomorrow from 1:30 a.m. eastern time until 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time.
Tiger Woods will go after his 15th major. He has won the British Open three times, the last win coming in 2006, and is eyeing his fourth open championship.
However, coming into the event, Darren Clarke is the defending champion. Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson were runners-up.
Rory McIlroy, the 23-year-old sensation will try to get back into the championship mix after capturing the U.S. Open and struggling ever since.
The following schedule is in Eastern Time. The first three golfers on the course will be Barry Lane, James Driscoll, Garth Mulroy. They will tee off at 1:30 a.m. eastern time, which is approximately 6:30 in England.
Woods hits at 4:42 a.m. and champion Darren Clarke tees off at 4:09 a.m. Eastern Time.
