The Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs are playing live on the NBA season opener schedule on Tuesday night and the matchup is live from the AT&T Center and starts up on TNT and streaming online at 8 pm ET as SA raises their championship banners and Tim Duncan takes on Dirk Nowitzki in this Texas matchup as the Mavs play one of the top teams in the western conference to open the year.
The Spurs come in after winning the championship last season over the Miami Heat and they will open with the Mavericks before playing against the Phoenix Suns. The team has the chance to win again and many see them as the team that will come out of the west. The Spurs manhandled the Miami Heat in the playoffs and now they have the chance to be even better and they return all their major stars and could be the top team overall in the NBA this season.
The Mavericks brought in Chandler Parsons after a dance with the Rockets and they feel good about adding him in a deal. The team also traded for Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton with the Knicks and Mark Cuban thinks the team will be even better this season after just making the playoffs last year and giving the Spurs a hard time. The series did not go seven, but the Mavs played well and gave the Spurs all they had. The Spurs and Cavaliers are the favorites in the NBA this season and that would LeBron against the Spurs for the second straight year.
The Spurs come in after winning 62 games last season and that was another year over 60 wins and they have the Mavericks before playing against the Suns next. The team was 12-4 against their division and they have their leading scorer in Tony Parker coming back. Duncan and Parker were the leaders in assists and rebounds per game and those two players will be key if San Antonio wants to win again this season.
The Mavericks come into the game after winning nearly 50 games last season and making the playoffs over the Suns and now they ate looking to start off with a win. The Mavericks know what this feels like, as they hosted the Miami Heat after they won their championship and the team brings back Dirk as their leading scorer. The team has the Jazz next after this and the NBA schedule picks up on Wednesday with the rest of the league getting into the action after the TNT double header with the Mavs and Spurs before the Lakers and Rockets.
