British Open 2012 TV Coverage: Where to Watch, ESPN Schedule

The first round of the 2012 British Open is coming to a close. For most on the western hemispher, it was impossible to catch the action, but ESPN will be doing everybody a solid as they will show encores of the Open Championship all throughout the day.

The Open teed off at around 1 a.m. Eastern Time on Thursday morning.

ESPN began their coverage of the Open at 4:30 a.m. Their live coverage continued until 3 p.m. Eastern Time. They will show highlights from 3 p.m.- 6 p.m. where they give way to Sports Center, but more than likely fans can catch some highlights of the Open there as well.

They will resume their coverage of the Open at 7 p.m., right after the show and it will continue going until 10 p.m. and will let Baseball Tonight take over.

For Friday, the schedule will repeat itself again. 

Golfers will tee off at 1:30 a.m. Eastern Time and ESPN will begin their Friday live coverage of the the British Open championship at 4:30 a.m. all the way until 3:00 p.m. They will then show highlights until 6 p.m., show more of the tournament from 7 p.m.-10 p.m.

Friday morning, Bob Estes will be the first player to tee off. He will be followed by Steven O'Hara and Branden Jones. 

When ESPN begins their live coverage Friday morning, viewers can tune in to catch Rory McIlroy play through the second round. He is set to tee off at 4:20 a.m. Easter Time. 

Tiger Woods will be teeing off at 9:43, while the top player on the leaderboard, Adam Scott, will tee off at  8:43.
