LA Lakers Rumors: Michael Carter-Williams, Rajon Rondo Signed as Jeremy Lin Return Unlikely? Greg Monroe, Marc Gasol Free Agency Targets Over Kevin Love

The Los Angeles Lakers are 1-9. On Sunday night as the team fell to the Golden State Warriors, fans would simply cheer if someone made a shot as they held on to what little hope there was left. The idea the Lakers will win a game seems very far off at the point as they inch close to the worst start in league history. As Kobe Bryant and Jeremy Lin try and figure out what is wrong, is Los Angeles already eyeing their future moves?

Things got grim when the Lakers fell to the Warriors 136-115 on Sunday. The team was bad across the board. The defense allowed Stephen Curry to put up 30 points and 15 assists while Klay Thompson also had a big night off wide open looks. Meanwhile on offense, Bryant once again carried the team on his back scoring 44 points while Lin went scoreless in 23 minutes. There was simply a lot of confusion after the game.

"The game of basketball is ... we've got to do it together. It can't be ... if I go into a game concerned about myself, then in some ways that's detrimental to the team," Lin said, via ESPN.com. "There's so many things wrong right now. At the top of the list, I would say communication, trust and effort."

Bryant simply noted that he was frustrated and patience was wearing thin. The Lakers are limited in the moves they can make right now, their best option looking to be tanking and accepting the high draft pick while grabbing marquee players in free agency. One player claiming he is not available is Kevin Love who denies the idea he will leave Cleveland for Los Angeles in 2015 free agency.

"Whatever [people assumed] we were doing with our hands was about as true as me going to the Lakers," Love said, via ESPN.com. "Going to the Lakers, no, that's not [true]."

So who will be targets for the Lakers going forward? The team will begin with a big man as Carlos Boozer fails to make an impact. Greg Monroe could be the favorite as he prepares to be an unrestricted free agent. Rajon Rondo and Michael Carter-Williams will be point guard targets after the Steve Nash injury and departure of Jeremy Lin. The Lakers will have a lot of cap space to work with in the upcoming offseason and will aim to rebuild as quickly as possible.
