Olympics 2012 Opening Ceremony: Live Images From the London Inauguration

So here in the U.S. we have to wait for NBC to show the 7:30 tape-delay of the Open Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.

But here at Sportsworldreport.com we have a couple of images from the live event.

These are a few images of the inauguration. Consider it a tease.

Duran Duran performs in the Olympic inaguaration in London.

Planes fly over staining the sky with the red, white and blue of the UK as Duran Duran performs.

Okay, so I'm convinced Danny Boyle took a page out of Kanye West's book and created this fiery scene. Have you been to Kanye's concerts? There's fire, gloomy lights and more fire in his performances. This blast created the Olympic logo on the ground.

Performers take center stage as in the London 2012 Opening Ceremony.

Kind of ironic that this was a part of the performance. "This is for everyone" yet only people in the UK can see the live action because NBC decided not to have a live stream available. I get it though. For the first time in the history of the Olympics there is a woman representing each country in the world. Everybody is welcomed to London.

Americans can catch the action at home at 7:30 p.m. on NBC on the East Coast, 6:30 p.m. CT and the West Coast can enjoy the action at 7:30 PT.
