Day 2 of the men's Group A tournament will feature Argentina vs. France Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. ET.
Argentina vs. France has become something more than a Group A game-it has become Manu Ginobili vs. Tony Parker or Spur vs. Spur.
San Antonio Spurs' star Ginobili says he has a special plan to keep Parker from playing his best:
"Go right up to him," Ginobili said, "and go 'whooo!'" Ginobili blew air out of his mouth. "That should fog up his goggles," he said.
Of all six Spurs players involved in Olympic play, Ginobili single handily had the best game of all six as his team not only blasted Lithuania, but Ginobili put up a magnificent stat line of 21 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and four steals.
Parker and his French teammates were clobbered by the United States on Sunday, as they look forward to playing a team not made up of NBA players in Argentina.
Though France is very athletic, and arguably more talented, Argentina may just slightly be the better team.
"This is an excellent team, very athletic and very good on defense," Ginobili said. "And with a talented player like Tony Parker, who is able to find his teammates or scoring when he wants, it will be a tough game. But the fact that we have beaten Lithuania reassures us and gives us some confidence. It will minimize Tony to win."
