Tottenham Hotspur News: DeAndre Yedlin Set For January Arrival In English Premier League For Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur has confirmed the news that DeAndre Yedlin will make his debut with the Spurs in January, which is earlier than he was expected at the English Premier League club after his signing from the Seattle Sounders in the MLS earlier this season.

The team released a statement this week saying that Yedlin will be coming in January and that as a young player this will help his development. According to Pro Soccer Talk, Yedlin signed for $4 million over the summer with Tottenham and that came after he broke out at the World Cup for the United States. Yedlin is a USMNT soccer product and he came through the MLS with the Sounders and now the 21-year-old will make his debut with the Spurs in January most likely.

Yedlin originally was set to join the Spurs in the summer of 2015 before the next Premier League season, but clearly manager Mauricio Pochettino has other thoughts in mind. The team could use a boost in the Premier League and while Yedlin can't make a huge difference on his own, he surely can help shore up the backline for the Spurs. Tottenham is seventh on the league table and they start January with Chelsea on the schedule.

"DeAndre is a young player with great potential who has already achieved a lot in Major League Soccer," Pochettino said. "It is important for his development that he is given the time to adapt to his new surroundings both on and off the pitch and we believe that by coming to us in January it will give him the best opportunity to do so."
