Olympics 2012 Beach Volleyball Schedule: Times and Matchups for Tuesday's Semifinals

The beach volleyball semifinals at the 2012 London Olympics set off 12 p.m. ET/5 p.m. GMT Brazil versus Latvia on Tuesday. Both men and women will be competing in the semifinals, of course, not against each other.

Brazil's Men's duo of Alison Cerutti and Emanuel Rego, who are expected to take home a medal, will contest Martins Plavins and Janis Smedins of Latvia. 

Latvia's duo is coming off of a huge win against USA's Jacob Gibb and Sean Rosenthal on Monday. They defeated the favorite to win Bronze, accoring to Sports Illustrated, in the Men's Beach Volleyball event. 

Without a break from this match, USA's Women's gold medalist in the event, Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings will take on China's Xue Chen and Xi Zhang. The action begins at 1 p.m. ET/6 p.m. GMT.

Both duo's had dominating performances on Sunday as they swept their opponents in two sets. May-Treanor and Walsh Jennings faced Italians Marta Menegatti and Greta Cicolari. U.S. won both sets 21-13.

China's duo of Chen and Zheng faced the Austrian duo of Stefani Schwaiger and Doris Schwaiger in two sets 21-18, 21-11. 

The China and American duos come into their match ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively. 

Beach volleyball will take a break before more Women's Beach Volleyball comes our way. At 4 p.m. ET/9 p.m. GMT as Brazil's Larissa Franca and Juliana Silva take on April Ross and Jennifer Kessy.

At 6 p.m. ET/11 p.m. GMT, Men's Volleyball returns to action as Germans Julius Brink and Jonas Reckermann take on  Reinder Nummerdor and Rich Schuil of the Netherlands.
