The USA will go against China in Women's Beach Volleyball Semifinals. Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings will look to defend their gold medal once again as they face the second top ranked duo in Women's Beach Volleyball. The action begins at 1 p.m. ET/6 p.m. GMT. 

Both teams had very successful performances in Sunday's quarterfinals as they swept their opponents in two straight sets. May-Treanor and Walsh Jennings defeated the Italian duo of Marta Menegatti and Greta Cicolari. U.S. won both sets 21-13.

China's Xue Chen and Xi Zhang earned their way into the semis after defeating the Austrian duo of Stefani Schwaiger and Doris Schwaiger in two sets 21-18, 21-11.

The first set was pretty close as Austria led through the first 15 games. China took the lead after the score was tied 8-8, taking their first lead of the match. Little by little they increased their lead, which peaked at 18-13. 

In the second set, Xue and Zhang did not waste too much time before taking their first lead of the game. Austria's duo struck first, but China took a 4-3 lead and never trailed again after that. 

The China and American duos come into their match ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively.
